Nathan Bres , a young 24-year-old French director, is starting to make a short film (it's even the pilot episode of a series), entitled "Le Mythe de Whitechapel" , about twenty minutes long. The project is currently intended for broadcast on the Internet (YouTube). It is an original story featuring the "first investigation" of Sherlock Holmes and John H. Watson, inspired by both the texts of Arthur Conan Doyle and the script of the video games produced by the company Frogwares. Filming is scheduled to begin at the end of April 2024 in London. "This is a project that I will do in English because it seemed obvious to me that English expressions, intonation, the way of expressing oneself and the "British" accent of the time were really specific to this language. The actors will be English and physically close to what we imagine for Sherlock Holmes and John H. Watson."
This British production will be partly carried out by a French technical team. When it is broadcast on YouTube, the short film will be subtitled in French.
From one day to the next, Nathan Bres will launch a crowdfunding campaign to raise the budget needed for the project. He needs 8,500 euros. The SSHF wishes him good luck.
Synopsis of the pilot episode: Set in the 19th century, the story illustrates the beginning of the adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson on the occasion of their first investigation. Several disappearances have taken place in the Whitechapel district. The complexity of the case leads Holmes to the limits of what his mind can accept, between reality and the supernatural...

Nathan Bres made a first short film, entitled “ No Rest ”, which was a finalist and winner of an award in several international festivals.
He also directed a "short film teaser" for the release of a Frogwares video game in April 2023.
